Joyus! What a Joyful Find


I am a single mom and novice blogger no doubt.  Most of my time is spent searching and reading other blogs and getting inspiration and ideas for my site.  During my searches (usually late at night when my 5 year old is asleep) I stumble upon a website, or article, or video that totally grabs my attention.  When I find something interesting I share it via FB, twitter, and google plus.


Let me introduce you to a jewel of a site called JOYUS.com (https://www.joyus.com/).  JOYUS has this innovative video demonstration platform.  The videos show how the product is used, and with a click you can buy the product without leaving the page.  Love it.    I watched every video and reposted most to my facebook page.  It was contagious.

Master The Basics

What does "Master the Basics" mean to you.  To me it means to go back and cover the fundamentals.  Doing the essentials consistently until you do them un-consciously conscious. In short, without thinking.  You can start anywhere, anytime with any area you choose.  You can learn the 'Basics of Carpentry, Sewing or Hair Braiding.


How about 'Mastering the Basics' of something you are compassionate, compelled, or spiritually inspired to do.  For instance; track your walking steps with a speedometer 2x a week, incorporate the Word of God in your morning rituals, get up and fix a hot breakfast for your children each day and see them off to school.   It is all up to you.


Mastering the Basics reinforce what you know, and makes you a role model.   You can teach others what you have mastered.  It instills a sense of pride, but not acting proud.


You can learn from others who have Mastered the Basics from books, cassettes, webinars and conferences.  Mastering the Basic's takes a made up mind. You can move to the head of the class, be the top seller, which lead you to success, wealth, and health for and your family.  What are you waiting for?

4 Easy To Follow Writing Tips For Bloggers

Do you feel anxiety whenever you think of writing for your blog. I did.  My brain froze and I was at a loss for words.   Here are a few suggestions I used to help me, and they can help you too.

1.  Find inspiration

Read magazines, newsletters, and newspapers.  Sometimes I’m inspired by watching the news, a movie, a gospel program on television like Joel Olsteen.  I visit several websites and blogs to see what others are writing about and read their content.  I was particularly inspired by three non profits:

2.  Just start writing

I realize that I am an individual and must find my niche for writing.  Some bloggers are technical and experts in their field.  Some choose a particular event, product or human interest story with a freeform style.  My approach is so simple.  I just start writing whenever the inspiration hits me.  I type as fast as my fingers can keep up with my thoughts.  Do not worry about editing, this is your outline.  Have one or two people look over your content, then utilize spell check and grammar functions and post.

3.  Comment on other blogs and websites

Take time to leave friendly, courteous and supportive comments on the sites you visit.  I won a free T-shirt by being the 300th person to leave a comment  on this site Empowered Flower Girl Company (http://empoweredflowergirl.com/). 

4.  Mind your manners

Please be careful not to offend, use profanity, or be disrespectful.  You don’t want to be undeleted or reported for scam.  Friending is a great way to network and show your social media netiquette.  Unfriending can become viral, and will hurt your organization.  Be genuine, professional, but more importantly have fun.
